Flaxseedy Goodness Bars

I posted this recipe on my Wellness Mission siteĀ the other day, and also tried it out with a school swim team over here in Bahrain, and it was a resounding success! These Flaxseedy Goodness Bars are so easy to make, taste great, and will last all week in your fridge (if you don’t eat them before then!).

And what’s more, flaxseeds are one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acid, which we tend to be a bit short on. With the ratio working out as approximately one date and raisin per bar, the sugar content isn’t astronomical, but as a pre or post workout snack they are perfect!

Here’s how to do it:


Dry ingredients

1 cup mixed seeds (sunflower/pumpkin/sesame)

1 tbsp Coconut flour

1/2 cup ground mixed flaxseeds and linseeds

4 tbsp chia seeds

4 tbsp cacao powder

4 tbsp rolled oats

Wet ingredients

20 gooey dates

1/4 cup raisins

6 tbsp coconut oil

1 tsp vanilla extract


Mix all the dry ingredients in a food processorĀ until broken down but still with a crunch.

Combine the wet ingredients with he dry in your food processor and pulse until fully mixed.

Compact the ingredients down into a dish (around 9×9), sprinkle with some extra seeds and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Cut into bite sized bars, and try not to eat all in one go!!
