My latest in a world of fusion workouts – TRX Yoga

Hybrid, fusion workouts are everywhere – Yogalates, Boxilates, Spin Bootcamp, the list goes on, and there is a reason for this. Combining different types of exercises allows you to work your body across a multitude of plains of motion, and through various functional movements. My latest fusion which I’ve been testing out is TRXoga… not so catchy. Maybe YogaRX… OK I’ll stick with TRX Yoga! I’ve combined the instability and off-balance platform that the TRX provides with vinyasa yoga, moving through a flow similar to that of a Sun Salutation. The slow flow and breath is important here, but with one foot in the TRX, your core and stabilizing muscles are constantly working to keep you balanced. Once you’ve worked with one foot in the TRX, do the flow again but with the other foot raised. See if you have a dominant side. See if you can take your eyes off the horizon, maybe even close them. Stick with your breath, and see what your body will allow. And enjoy!

Check out the video below, try it for yourself, and let me know what you think!

LOVE this! I can’t wait to try out the blend! I like that you make it flowy… that’s always been my quam with TRX they have equipment to make it more of a flowy class instead of just “cranking out push ups” class! I’m so glad someone finally took the initiative!

Thanks! I had 7 months of the TRX whilst deployed in Afghanistan, so managed to get quite creative, and I agree with you… didn’t want to be doing million push ups! (ok I could NEVER have done a million push ups but you know what I mean!)
