My #Bookshelfie – inspirational books to keep me learning

I want to know what’s inspiring your bookshelf at the moment? I split my time between London and Bahrain, and as such my book collection is split too. But I like to have inspirational, motivational and training books on hand wherever I am, as I never want to stop learning.

My current lifestyle favourites that I am working my way through (note: always have a notebook and pen when reading these books… the notes I make are never ending!) are Arianna Huffington’s ‘Thrive’, and a classic that is ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen R. Covey. These books are very different in both structure and content, however they seem to be getting at the same thing… and that is not to be working harder, but to be working more efficiently, which allows us both to excel as professionals, but also enjoy our personal relationships and life adventures.

My current diet and nutrition favourites are ‘The Sirtfood Diet’ by Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten, and ‘The Bulletproof Diet’ by Dave Asprey. Both diets focus on what you can eat, rather than emphasizing what you can’t, but what I find so interesting is how so many different diets out there contradict each other, or recommend different foods that you should avoid. I believe in my line of work it is important to know about these diets, and understand the theory behind them, but it also highlights to me that there is no ‘one size fits all’, and you need to eat what works for your body to make you feel energized, satiated and content!
