We all are aware that exercise is good for us… it releases endorphins, it supercharges our metabolism, and it makes us feel super duper.
But sometimes, the wrong kind of exercise can emphasise an already heightened state. For example, if you are feeling stressed and then you go and do a High Intensity Interval circuit, the increased heart rate, the fast paced atmosphere and the increase in blood flow may cause your body to react in the same way it does to a stressful situation. More cortisol is the last thing your body needs right now!
So choosing your workout to compliment your mood can really help to get your body back into a stress free state.
